How Marii Tables Runs Your Front of House

Published October 2026·6 min read

Friday, seven o'clock. The phone is ringing, three calls have gone unanswered, and two parties have been booked onto table five. Every missed call is a table someone else fills, and a regular you forget doesn't come back.

Marii Tables runs your front of house, from the first booking to the last table. It has three parts: a booking page for guests, a host stand on a tablet at the door, and a QR card on each table.

Guests book themselves, with no phone call

Your booking page lives at table.marii.app/yourvenue. A guest picks the night, the time and the party size, says if it is a birthday or if anyone has an allergy, and is confirmed straight away. The same page takes collection orders, paid by EcoCash, InnBucks, O'mari or card into your own account, and sells tickets to your next event, live from Marii Tickets. Put the link on your WhatsApp status, your Instagram bio and your flyers.

Your host sees everyone coming

The door app, downloaded from Google Play, runs on any tablet or smart phone you already own. One screen shows tonight's bookings in order with party sizes and notes, the walk-ins, and the floor as free, held and seated. The birthday and the shellfish allergy are on the booking before the guest walks in, and regulars come up with their history.

Late parties are flagged, a no-show sweep is one tap, and staff act under their own PIN, so the book shows who seated whom. When the Wi-Fi drops, the tablet keeps taking bookings from its local copy and syncs when the signal returns.

At the table, the QR makes the wait useful

Each table gets a QR card. A guest who scans it sees your menu, with sold-out dishes greyed rather than hidden, tonight's special, and the name of the waiter walking over. If they are celebrating, one tap tells the kitchen. When a guest scans the QR at table two, table two lights up on the host's tablet, so the door knows they are seated without walking the room.

What it does not do is take the order. Your waiters do that, as they do now.

Set up once. It runs itself.

  1. We build your page. Bookings, menu, photos, hours and socials, on table.marii.app/yourvenue.
  2. QRs on the tables. Printed cards, one per table. They are permanent and never need reprinting; if one is damaged, a scan quietly falls back to the public page while we print a new card.
  3. The door goes live. Any tablet becomes the host stand. Bookings start the same day.
  4. You just serve. Guests book, order ahead and buy tickets. Nothing for staff to key in.

What it costs

Marii Tables is priced per venue, and each venue gets its own page, its own tables and its own door. Marii takes no cut of a collection order. Ten minutes on the phone is usually enough to know if it fits your room, and to get a price for it.

Questions venues ask

Do guests order from their phones at the table?

No. In the room the page shows the menu and gets out of the way. Your waiters take the order, as they do now.

Do we need new hardware?

No. The door runs in a browser on any tablet you already own, and guests use their own phones.

What if the internet drops?

The door keeps working from its local copy and syncs the moment it reconnects. Guests scanning at the table see a cached menu.

Who takes the collection money?

You do, straight into your own account. Marii takes no cut of an order.

What if a table QR is damaged?

A scan of an unknown or inactive table quietly falls back to the public page. The guest never sees an error, and we reprint the card.
