How to build your Marii storefront
From creating your first product to sharing a live link on WhatsApp — this is the complete walkthrough to get your store open for business.
Before you start
When you sign up for Marii, you choose a workspace name (your slug). Your store goes live automatically at https://[your-workspace].marii.app. You can share this link immediately — even before adding products, though customers will see an empty catalogue until you do.
Add your products with images
Go to Inventory → Add Product in your dashboard. Fill in the product name, description, price (you can set both a USD and ZWG price), and the quantity in stock. Upload at least one photo — products with clear images sell significantly better, so take the extra two minutes to photograph your item in good light.
You can organise products into categories. Categories appear as tabs on your live storefront, making it easier for customers to browse if you carry a wide range. Common examples: "Fresh Produce", "Baked Goods", "Men's Wear", "Supplements".
Repeat this for each item you want to appear on your store. Your stock counts are live — the moment an order is placed, the quantity is deducted automatically.
Share your store link
Your storefront URL is https://[your-workspace].marii.app. Copy it from the top of your Storefront settings page and start sharing it everywhere.
The highest-converting channel is WhatsApp Status. Post a product photo or a screenshot of your store with your link in the caption. Your contacts who see it can tap through immediately, browse, and order without leaving their phone.
Also share it on your Instagram and Facebook bio, in your email signature, and on any printed flyers or business cards. Every share is a permanent shop window — the link never changes and the store is always open.
Connect your payment accounts
Go to Settings → Payments. Here you can add two types of payment options:
- Payment gateway integration — connect Pesepay or Paynow using your API credentials. Customers will see a "Pay online" button at checkout that redirects them to a hosted payment page. Money settles directly to your bank or EcoCash wallet.
- Manual bank & mobile money details — add your CBZ, CABS, or Ecobank account number, or your EcoCash number, so customers who prefer to pay manually can see where to send funds. They upload a proof-of-payment screenshot at checkout for you to verify.
You do not have to choose one or the other — you can offer both options simultaneously.
Add your WhatsApp contact number
In Settings → Storefront, add your WhatsApp number. A "Chat with us" button will appear on your storefront so customers can reach you directly with questions before placing an order.
This reduces drop-off for customers who want to confirm availability or ask about delivery options before committing. The tap-to-WhatsApp flow is something every Zimbabwean customer already knows how to use.
Write your About section
Still in Settings → Storefront, fill in your About description. This appears on your public store page and tells customers who you are, what you sell, where you deliver to, and any other context that builds trust.
See the ✨ sparkle button? That is the AI write assist. Tap it and Marii's AI will draft an About section based on your business name and the products you have listed. You can edit the result or use it as a starting point — it saves time if you are not sure how to describe your business in writing.
Custom domain & themes Growth & Enterprise
On the free Starter plan, your store lives at [workspace].marii.app. If you are on the Growth or Enterprise plan, you can point your own domain — say, shop.yourbrand.co.zw — to your Marii store, and choose from premium storefront themes that match your brand identity.
Custom domains and themes are not required to make sales — thousands of businesses run successfully on the default URL — but they do add a layer of professionalism that matters for certain markets.
