Marii Tickets · Getting Started
Getting started with Marii Tickets
Create your event, publish ticket types, and start selling QR-code tickets online — with the money settling directly into your own payment gateway account.
What is Marii Tickets?
Marii Tickets is event ticketing built for Zimbabwean organisers. You create your event in the Marii dashboard, buyers purchase online at tickets.marii.app, and every ticket is emailed to them as a unique QR code. At the event, you scan people in with the free Marii gate app — on as many devices as you need, even offline. Ticket money settles directly into your own connected gateway account. Marii never touches your money.
Who is Marii Tickets for?
Anyone selling entry to something with a date and a gate: concerts and gigs, church conferences, festivals, comedy and theatre shows, sports fixtures, school fundraisers, corporate dinners, and community events. It works for paid events and free ($0) events where you still want a managed guest list and QR check-in.
Because Marii adds no per-sale commission, you keep the full ticket price your buyers pay — you pay a single fee when you publish a ticket type, and that is it.
What you need to get started
- A Marii account. Sign up from the organiser page at tickets.marii.app/organiser. Your events live in the dashboard at dashboard.marii.app.
- Your event details. Event name, date, time, venue, a short description, and an image for the event page.
- A connected payment gateway. Pesepay, Paynow, or Stripe — this is how buyers pay you directly. Ticket money settles into your own gateway account, not a Marii account.
Creating your first event
Create your Marii account
Head to tickets.marii.app/organiser and sign up. Creating an account is free, and creating an event is free too — you only pay a fee when you publish a ticket type.
Add your event details
In your dashboard, create a new event and fill in the essentials: the event name, date, time, venue, a description, and an image.
Be specific in the description — buyers see it on your event page before they pay. Mention what is included, gate opening times, and anything attendees should bring or know.
Set up your ticket types
An event can have multiple tiers or ticket types — for example General, VIP, and Early Bird. Each ticket type has its own name, price, and capacity, so you control exactly how many of each can be sold.
Connect your payment gateway
Marii Tickets uses a Bring Your Own Gateway (BYOG) model. Connect your own Pesepay, Paynow, or Stripe account so buyers pay you directly. Buyers will see whatever payment methods your gateway supports — typically EcoCash, Visa/Mastercard, and bank transfer.
Settlement timing is set by your gateway, not by Marii — Marii holds no funds at any point.
Publish and share
When you publish a ticket type, you pay the Marii fee: 3% of the ticket face value, paid once — not per sale. Free ($0) events pay a flat $5. The dashboard shows you the exact fee before you commit, and you can pay in cash (minimum charge $1) or in kind with tickets.
Once published, share your event page link on WhatsApp, social media, posters, and anywhere your audience is. Buyers purchase online and their QR-code tickets are emailed to them straight after payment.
