Your credit is money you were owed. It is protected the way money should be — not with promises, with how the thing is built.
Spending takes the code on your phone, or your card and your PIN. Your phone number alone can never spend, and a photo or photocopy of your card is useless without your PIN.
Your pay code is signed on your own phone and changes every minute. A shop can check it, but no shop — and not even Marii — can make one for you.
It is checked by our servers each time you pay and is never stored on a shop’s device. Three wrong tries and it locks until you set a new one.
When your card is used, you get a text straight away with what was spent and what is left — and a number to call if it wasn’t you.
Report it lost in the app and it stops working at every till, at once. Your credit stays exactly where it was, ready for a new card.
There is no password to steal. Each sign-in takes a code sent to your number, so someone holding your card still can’t get into your account.
Each shop’s credit sits on its own card, with that shop’s name and colour. Nothing is ever pooled — credit belongs to the shop that gave it.
A single code, refreshed every minute, that any Marii shop can scan. It works with no signal, so a queue never waits for your data.
When a shop saves your change, you get a notification and a text. Tap either and you land on that exact card.
Lost your phone, flat battery, no smartphone at all? Show your card at the till and enter your PIN. The app is a convenience, never the key.
Stay in the loop
Your butcher has a weekend special. Your pharmacy has your brand back in stock. Your bakery has something for your birthday. Say yes at their till, and they can tell you before the shelf is empty — and you already have credit there to put towards it.
Each shop asks you at its own till. Yes to your butcher, no to everyone else — it is your call, one shop at a time.
Specials arrive in the app’s For you section as the shop’s own poster — the weekend deal, the new stock, the treat on your birthday. Now and then, a text.
One switch per shop in the app, and one for all of them. Off means off: nothing from that shop until you change your mind.
Turning offers off never stops the message telling you a shop saved your change. That one is your credit, not an offer.
