Terms of Use

Marii Cards is a free app for seeing store credit that shops are holding for you. The credit itself is between you and the shop — this page is clear about which parts are ours and which are theirs, because that distinction decides who can help when something goes wrong.
What the app is
Marii Cards shows you the store credit each shop is holding for you, and gives you a code to prove who you are at their till.
You can also keep a copy of other shops' loyalty cards in the app, to show at their till. These hold no credit from us, and we have no part in those shops' programmes. Some shops' programmes have their own rules. Check them — a shop may still ask for the plastic card.
The app is free. There is nothing to buy inside it, and no fee is taken from your credit.
What store credit is — and is not
Store credit is change a shop owed you and kept for you, to be spent at that shop. It is issued by the shop, held by the shop, and honoured by the shop.
- It is not money in an account, not a deposit, and not a payment service. You cannot buy it, top it up, send it to anyone, or withdraw it as cash.
- It is spent only at the shop that gave it. Credit from one shop is never usable at another.
- Your credit does not expire. Each shop sets a limit on how much credit you can hold with them. The app shows you those terms on the card.
Who is responsible for what
The shop is responsible for the credit: for honouring it, for the terms attached to it, for what they sell you with it, and for refunds. If a balance looks wrong, or a shop will not accept credit they issued, the shop is who can put it right — and they hold the same record you are looking at.
We are responsible for the app and the record: keeping an accurate ledger of what each shop has added and taken off, and showing you the same figures the till sees.
If a shop closes or stops using Marii, we will tell you what we know, but we cannot pay out credit a shop is holding. That is why the app encourages spending credit rather than accumulating it.
Your account
- Your phone number is your account. Keep access to it — anyone who can receive your messages can sign in.
- Spending needs your card and your PIN, or the code on your phone. Keep your PIN to yourself, and do not show your code to someone who is not serving you.
- Lost your card, or had it stolen? Report it lost in the Marii app and it stops working at once, or ask any shop where you hold credit to block it. If you can do neither, call Marii on +263 78 295 8724. Any shop that issues cards can give you a replacement; your credit is unaffected.
- Changing your number moves your credit with you, and needs confirmation on both numbers — or your card and PIN, in person, if you have lost the old SIM.
Fair use
Do not attempt to forge a code, use another person's card or account, or interfere with the service. We may suspend an account that does. Suspension does not cancel genuine credit — that remains a matter between you and the shop.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running, but do not promise it is uninterrupted. The app is designed so an outage does not stop you being served: your code works without a network, your card works at the till, and tills keep serving customers while offline. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss arising from an interruption.
Ending it
You can stop using the app at any time and ask us to delete your account. If a shop is still holding credit for you, spend it first — deleting the account gives up the record of it.
